I purchased Tier 1 so I could have fun with my new team of interns. We had our first team meeting today. Most of it was to introduce ourselves and talk business, and during that time my team tended to be rather quiet and perhaps even disinterested when they weren't the ones being focused on. But at the end of the meeting we played two rounds of CrowdParty, and they livened up, laughed, and had a great time. It was a fun icebreaker activity and one I'd like to do again.
First we played the Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader game. Thankfully, everyone on my team was able to guess correctly that Earth is located in the Milky Way Galaxy. If not, they'd have been kicked off the team! Next we played the Mixed Game, with all the different modes in it. It was fun to play charades and the drawing games on our phones. And to see how some people are good at one type of game, yet poor at others.
I was tempted to upgrade to Tier 2 and Tier 3 before the sale ended, but I wanted to try it out first. I was thinking it could be good way to get my followers on social media to engage more with my brand. But I haven't had an opportunity to host a livestream game yet with random people, so I'm hoping that CrowdParty will come back to AppSumo and I'll have played a game or two like that by then. If I'm able to fill the room at 50, and more people ask to play beyond that limit, then I'll upgrade because I know it will have proven itself. Especially as a way to grab email addresses from my social followers and add them to my newsletter list. Although at the moment I do second guess the decision because I think that their current pricing is prohibitively expensive. We'll see.
Overall, CrowdParty is fun for teams, and has strong marketing potential for any company or solopreneur.
